It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Mathis (Seymour, Indiana), who passed away on August 5, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Houston and Roselena Mathis (Hall); his son Roger Dale Mathis; his brothers, Robert Joseph Mathis, Thomas B. Mathis and Michael L. Mathis; and his daughter-in-law Shelley Mathis.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Diane Mix; his sons, Steven Duane Mathis (Patti) and Joseph Houston Mathis; his grandchildren, Jeremy Steven Mathis (Jami) and Diane Louise Mathis; his great grandchildren, Jaylen Rose Mathis, Dante Sanchez, Randilynn Bland, Hope Mathis and Willa Mathis; and his sister Patricia L. Mathis.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (316 N Chestnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A masonic service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Riverview Cemetery (1603 Shields Ave, Seymour, IN 47274).
Memorial contributions in Duke's honor may be made out to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
