He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Smith and Mable Smith (Johnson); his son Danny Smith; and his siblings, Jack Ivan Smith, Donnie Smith and Ruby Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Billie Jean Smith (Hollin). He is also survived by grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
