He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Helwig and Emma Oberring Helwig; and his brother-in-law Fred Pollert. He is survived by: his children, Tiffany Le and Brent Helwig; his wife Sandra Bobb Baris (Sandee); his stepchildren, Theodora Miller, Anastasia Muckian (Martin), Eleni Drake (Scott) and Demetrios Baris; his grandsons, Gavin and Kellan; and his stepgrandchildren, Andrew, Dominic, Ella, Ben, Tommy, Natalie, Lily, Wesley and Evan.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (605 S Walnut St, Seymour, IN 47274). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
