He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert M. Lucas and Sara E. Marling Lucas; his stepchildren, Daniel Abell and Rebecca Lawrence; his sister Elizabeth "Betsy" Decker; and his great grandchild Macy Lucas.
He is survived by: his sons, Valley, Hill, Ross and Triple Culverts; his wife Patricia Lucas; his children, John Travis Lucas, Kody Knott (Jami) and Jessica Elks (Greg); his stepdaughters, Amanda Dingess (Cory) and Marlena Shelton (Steven); his grandchildren, Gabrielle Lockhard (Eric), Austin Elks (Siara), Katie Elks and Xander Knott; his stepgrandchildren, Nicholas Abell, Seth Abell, Andrew Dingess, Noah Dingess, Haley Dingess, Katelynn Snowden and Layla Shelton; his great grandchildren, Gannon Lockhard, Gauge Lockhard and Aubrey Elks; and his brother Daniel Lucas (Doris). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
