He was predeceased by: his mother Mabel Ann Barnes (Dean); and his daughters, Alisha Maynard and Amber Barnes. He is survived by: his father William David; his wife Annette Tutrow; his children, Christopher Anthony Barnes II (Loricel) of Shelbyville, Abraham Barnes (Emily) of Shelbyville, Angela Barnes of Shelbyville and Alena Barnes (Johnathan Nedderman) of Shelbyville; and his siblings, William David Barnes II (Jayne) of Shelbyville, Mark Barnes of Shelbyville, Kimberly Brown (Tab) of Blue Ridge, Buffy Powers (Jeff) of Shelbyville and Amy Price (Mark) of Shelbyville. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
