He was predeceased by: his parents, George Y. Hobbs and Pearl Hobbs (Luse); his wife Margaret V. (Wilkins); his son Randal E. Hobbs; his brothers, George W. Hobbs and Richard G. Hobbs; and his half-brother Carl J. King.
He is survived by: his son Emory R. "Rick" Hobbs (Vicki) of Noblesville; his grandchildren, Aaron Hobbs (Michele) of Noblesville and Amber L. Walker (Danny) of Avon; and his great grandchildren, Elijah Walker, Emma Hobbs and Joshua Walker.
