He is survived by: his son Jared Avery (Raven) of Surprise, Arizona; his sister Christine Lohrum (Les) of Versailles; and his grandchildren, Duke Crawford, Madeline Avery and Marina Avery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home.
