He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Sexton and Gertrude Sexton (Creekmoore); his son Tony Sexton; and his siblings, Bill Sexton, Leroy, Bob Sexton and Martha Day.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Nigh; his children, Dawn Gilles (Scott) of Shelbyville, Kim Sexton (Laura) of Fort Wayne and Todd Sexton of Shelbyville; his siblings, Mitchell Sexton of Oklahoma, Donny Sexton (Margie) of Myrtle Beach and Diana Southgate of Myrtle Beach; his grandchildren, Justin Sexton, Megan Schreiber and Sydney Schultz; and his great grandchildren, Trystan Sexton, Hudson Schreiber, Lincoln Schreiber and Josie Schultz. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Freeman Family Funeral Homes (819 S Harrison St, Shelbyville, IN 46176). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
