Rick Shumar Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Rick Shumar of Shelbyville, Indiana. Rick passed away on September 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Shumar and Lorena Shumar. He is survived by: his daughters, Brooke Huffman (Bryce Huffman), Shannon Hurley (Ryan Hurley) and Victoria Hittinger (Ryan Hittinger); his grandchildren, Cameron Huffman, Landon Hurley, Cruze Hurley, Hudson Hurley, Davis Hurley, Matthew Hittinger and Emma Hittinger; and his sister Donna Shumar. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church (11441 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038). A Mass was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rush Shelby CASA in Rick's memory, supporting their work advocating for children and families in the community.
