She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Helms and Mildred Helms (Heaton); her spouse Bennie Lindsey; her daughter Kelly; and her siblings, Oscar, Harvey Jr., Homer, Vada Clayton, Margaret Leigh, Dorothy James and Evelyn Hamlin.
She is survived by: her sons, Barry (Liz) and Kyle (Jessica); her grandchildren, Rachel, Lauren, Ben (Hannah Walls), Jacob and Caleb; and her siblings, Dolly Vandeventer, Nancy Craig, Nelli Yoho (David Stille) and Ronnie Helms (Brenda). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Newark Cemetery.
