He was predeceased by: his mother Florence Forrester Peterson; his wife Julia Salyers Forrester; his siblings, Roland Peterson and Addie Lucinda Peterson; and his stepchildren, Deanna Luckey, William Ray Bailey and Jacob Lee Bailey.

He is survived by: his stepchildren, Sandra Collinsworth of Saylersville, KY, Jackie Bailey (June Moore) of South Bend, Danny Bailey of South Bend and Janet Bethany (Gary) of South Bend. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
