He was predeceased by: his parents, Ashley Carothers Sr. and Edna Carothers (Davison); his former wife Yvonne Waters; his wife Amanda Martin; and his siblings, Rose Wilson and William "Bill" Carothers.

He is survived by: his daughters, Gayle Jones (Marcus) of Indianapolis, IN and Stacey Miller (Michael) of Akron, OH; his stepson Michael Smith (Kristi) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Kyndal and Grayson; and his siblings, Nathaniel Carothers, Shirley "Chuck" Carothers and Al Carothers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pete's honor to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Pl, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
