She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglas Poindexter and Gladys Poindexter (Stoner); her husband Arvester Fleming Sr.; her daughter Karen E. Shead-Tucker; and her siblings, Joann Teague, Russel, John and William Poindexter.
She is survived by: her children, Anthony A. Fleming Sr. (Patricia) of Wesley Chapel, FL, Diana Fleming (Guy Luckert) of South Bend and Denise Fowler (Derrick) of South Bend; her grandsons, Joseph Shead, Jr., Anthony Fleming, Jr. (Skytha Kita Carrington) and Derrick Fleming; her great grandchildren, Jalen and Nia Fleming; and her close friend Gwen Scott. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
