It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Arlow Nelson of South Bend, Indiana, born in Mishawaka, Indiana, who passed away on February 24, 2022, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Nelson and Iolene Nelson (Beebe); and his brother Edward Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Marcus Nelson (Tina) and Jennifer Bates (Nelson); his stepchildren, Tony Maez and Kim Maez; his brothers, Bill Nelson (Judy), Tom Nelson and Rusty Nelson (Barbra); his grandsons, Michael Bates II, Christopher Nelson, Jordan Bates (Fatima), Coleman Maez, Jeremy Williams, Jr. and Marquis Bates; and his great grandchildren, Elias Bates and Alayna Bates.

Face masks are required to enter the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County.
