He is survived by: his mother Marjorie Deranek (Rand); his children, Alexis Smith of South Bend, Alyson Steadman of Niles, Michigan, Sydney Steadman of Niles, Michigan and Dylan Steadman of Niles, Michigan; and his siblings, Jennifer Kish (Shannon) of Mishawaka, Kathryn Fager (Garry) of Mishawaka, Letisha Rea of Mishawaka, Russell McCain, Jr. (Thea) of South Bend, Terry Gantt (Heather) of Alabama and Christopher Steadman of Alabama. He is also survived by his two grandchildren; his many nieces and nephews.
