He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel E. James and Dorothy H. James (LaFaver); his granddaughter Tarin Bowering; his sister Diane McCracken; and his father-in-law Richard Winkel.
He is survived by: his wife Debra A. James (Winkel); his children, Sahra Bennett (Jeff) of California, Melissa Ann Anderson of California, Angela M. James of Arizona and Ricky Kia of Atlanta, GA; his stepsons, David Bowering (Julie) of Cicero, IN, Jason Bowering (Heather) of Elkhart, IN and Justin Bowering (Beth) of South Bend; his mother-in-law Maryann Winkel; his brothers, Robert James (Diane) of South Bend and Daniel James (Kristen) of Woodstock, IL; and his brother-in-law Mark Winkel. He is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
