He was predeceased by: his parents, David Matthews and Anne Matthews (Eaton); and his sister Patricia E. Nichols. He is survived by: his sisters, Sandra Anne Wickham (Joseph W.) and Michelle T. Matthews of LaPorte; his siblings' children, Anthony D. Malysiak, Michael Nichols, Catherine S. Fossler and Kimberly Nemmers (Noah); his great-nieces, Emma Nichols, Claire, Leah Nemmers and Taylor Fossler; and his great-nephew Cody Fossler.
