He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Smith and Bernice Smith. He is survived by: his brother Dick; his wife Nancy Watson; and his children, Lynette Mischel (William), Brent Truex (Chasity) of Valparaiso, IN and Leanne Edwards of Flower Mound, TX.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
