He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Boatman and Suzie Boatman (Jernigan); his brother Ron; his wife Connie Boatman; his stepchildren, Carl Burmbaugh and Cindy Holcomd; his children, Adam Boatman (Alecia) and Christy Lewis (Zach); and his grandchildren, Ethan, Ellie Boatman, Isabel, Lily, Hazel and Abigail Lewis.

He is survived by: his brothers, Steve Boatman and Carl Boatman (Kathy); and his sister-in-law Mary Hanes Boatman.
