He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Riggs and Amelia Riggs (Winrott); his siblings, Randy Riggs and Susie Matamoros-Morales; and his son-in-law Keith Guffey.
He is survived by: his wife Tammy Lannan; his children, Jennifer Riggs (Herbert Maxwell Jr.) of South Bend, Crystal Riggs of South Bend and Adam Riggs of South Bend; his adoptive daughter Lori "Brat" McIntire; his grandchildren, Aaliyah, Kassandra, Alayzia, Sydni, Jenna Lah'ria, Herbert "Max" III, Kelsie, Maddie and Allie; his great grandchild Kaidence; his siblings, Jerry "Dud" Riggs (Mel), John Riggs (Pattie), Ricky Riggs, Peggy Riggs, Barb Riggs, Phyllis Murdick and Sally Riggs; and his siblings-in-law, Kim Riggs and Enrique Morales.
