With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hattie Chambliss of South Bend, Indiana, born in Macon, Mississippi, who passed away on October 27, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Showers and Kitty Showers (Grissom); her husband Richard Chambliss; and her siblings, Mary Helen, Georgiana, Maudine, John, Bill, Edward, Sam and Walter.
She is survived by: her children, Laura Chambliss Stamps (Jabari) of Ferndale, WA and Nicky Eugene Chambliss of South Bend; her sister Aretha Haire of St. Louis; and her nephew Gregory Johnson (Gwendolyn) of Columbus, Georgia..
