It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hazel Marlene Carter of South Bend, Indiana, born in Alexander, North Dakota, who passed away on November 18, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer D. Chaney and Helan M. Chaney (Cornell); her stepdaughters, Lori Ann and Sandra Lee; her son Charles; and her siblings, Georgia Caufman, John Chaney and Elmer Chaney.
She is survived by: her sons, Kenneth R. Carther (Tami) of Detroit, MI and William D. Carter (Melinda) of Mishawaka; and her siblings, Dona Kite of South Bend, William Chaney of South Bend and Marvin Chaney (Vernette) of Benton Harbor, MI.. She is also survived by 45 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Hazel's honor to a charity of the donor's choosing.
