She was predeceased by: her parents, Leah Isgrigg and Rev. Paul Isgrigg; her husband Walter Klimek Jr.; her sisters, Ruth Smith and Helen Baldwin; and her son Bruce Klimek.
She is survived by: her children, James Klimek (Lori) of Mishawaka and Julia Smith of Mishawaka; her grandchildren, Becky Palmreuter (Andrew), Chris Klimek (Tonisha), Rachel Vickers (Adan), Payton Smith and Niketa Sawyer (Issac); and her sister Rachel Polley of St. John's, MI. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Saint Joseph Funeral Home (824 S Mayflower Dr, South Bend, IN 46619). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meow Mission, 2915 E. Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615, in honor of Irene L. Klimek.
