He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Taghon and Ruth Taghon (Rupp); his brother Henry Taghon; and his wife Sharon Litznerski. He is survived by: his children, Jacqueline McDonnell (John) of Western Springs, Melanie Houle (Tom) of Williamsburg, Rachel Toole (Colin) of Katy, Tom Taghon (Katja) of Williamsburg and Andy Taghon (Sarah) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Madeline, Jacob Taghon, Jack, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jenna McDonnell, Sam, Sarah, Kate Houle, Michael, Nora Toole, Camryn Taghon, Brayden and Ashlynn Weisser; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Litznerski (Mariann) and Don Litznerski.
With Sharon's passing in April 2020, Covid restrictions did not allow for a public viewing and mass.
