He is survived by: his sons, Carlos Byrd of Indiana, Julian Byrd of Indiana and Jerry Ruffin of Indiana; and his siblings, Betty Williams (Eugene) of South Bend, IN, Mae Sue Dekle (TW) of Metter, Jenny Faye Olive of South Bend, Jimmy Byrd of South Bend, IN and Hank Summerlin of South Bend, IN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
