He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Cassity and Sadie Cassity (Golda); his wife Patricia Cassity; and his siblings, Hazel Clem, Ida Mae Crisler, Chester Cassity, Billy John Cassity and Everett Cassity.
He is survived by: his children, Robin Cassity of Elkhart, Chris Cassity of Elkhart, Tricia Bell (Greg), Dainta Deardoff of South Bend, Jimmy Cassity of Elkhart, Eric Cassity of Elkhart and James Cassity II of South Bend; and his siblings, Elizabeth Rowe, Phyllis Albright (Randy) of Cape Coral, FL, Floyd Cassity (Peggy) of Elkhart, Ray Cassity (Charlene) and Edward Cassity of Elkhart. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
