He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sidney and Minerva Hockaday; his wife Ruby Williams; his grandson DeCarlo Hockaday; his niece Deborah Kingsberry; and his siblings, Leslie Hockaday, John Hockaday, William "Buddy" Hockaday, Minerva "Tiny" Grant, Clara Harvell, Mable Hockaday and Ervin Hockaday.
He is survived by: his cousin Henry Shaw; his children, Lester Hockaday (Veronica), Michael Hockaday, Michelle Hockaday, Mark Hockaday (Monique), Sherry Caldwell (Malcom) and Phillip Hockaday (Patricia); and his sister Bertina Watkins of Willingboro. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
