He is survived by: his siblings, Ida Hennington, Gladys Lester and Raemozelle Phelps; his children, Dawn, Tanisha Phelps, William (Leslie) and James III Phelps (Dora); his stepchildren, David Rose and Amber Mathes; his wife Crystal; and his grandchildren, Alysia Malone, Jada Clark, Daquon Owens, Tasia, Kaylin, Iyana, Kamea, Jariah and Jamora Phelps.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel (2702 Lincoln Way W, South Bend, IN 46628).
