He was predeceased by: his parent Fitch Spencer; his former wife Judy May Carrier; his son Michael Hartzer; and his sisters, Mary Margaret Lass, Barbara Walter, Patricia Keiser and Andrea Redman.
He is survived by: his wife Marylee Hartzer (Hamilton); his children, JoLee Dorbin (Paul), Kristina Nguyen (Linh) and Edward "Ted" Hartzer; his grandchildren, Nicklaus, Paige Dorbin, James, Tim Hartzer and Katharine Nguyen; and his sister Sally Redman (Chuck). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations are suggested to American Diabetes Association or Marian High School Football Program.
