She was predeceased by: her parents, Byron D. Whiteman and Margaret A. Whiteman of South Bend; and her brothers, Edward E. Whiteman and Robert C. Whiteman. She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, David E. Whiteman (Linda), Michael J. Whiteman (Maryann), Rebecca S. LeCouteur (Edward), Byron G. Whiteman (Rebecca) and Barbara Whiteman; and her friend Terry Waith.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Red Cloud Indian School, 100 Mission Drive, Pine Ridge, South Dakota 57770.
