He was predeceased by: his wife Erma Toth of South Bend; and his sister Mercedes Gassensmith. He is survived by: his children, Robert of Pompano Beach and Nancy Kieft of South Bend; his granddaughters, Kimberly Hansen Petrina (John Potterton) of Naperville and Kristin Gutierrez (G. Marlon) of Long Beach; and his great grandchildren, Victoria, Grace, Jack and Gibson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46544.
