He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Steele and Elsie Steele; his former wife Sue Ann; and his siblings, Robert Steele (Helen), Raymond Steele (Marcia), Dorothy Gray, Betty Bonowitz (Lawrence) and Marriett Sanders (Robert).
He is survived by: his wife Ellouise; his stepchildren, Randy Hummer (Suzanne) of South Bend, Lori Chamberlin (Brent) of South Bend, Sherri Solmos (Vic) of North Liberty and Rick Hummer (Tabatha) of Walkerton; his grandchildren, Lindsey Tropp (Andy), Bryce Hummer (Allie), Preston Krause (Jenny), Zachary Krause (Makenzie), Brody Solmos (Cayla), Brock Solmos (Jordan), Azaryah Hummer and Samson Hummer; and his brothers, Bill Steele (Becky) of North Manchester, IN. and Richard Steele (Diane) of North Manchester, IN.. He is also survived by seven great grandchildren.
