She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry S. Gromski and Florence E. Gromski (Krol); her husband Michael Kurtis; and her sister Janet Gromski. She is survived by: her sons, Mark A. Kurtis of South Bend, Gary M. Kurtis of Mishawaka and Kristofer M. Kurtis of Austin, Texas; her grandson Joseph M. Kurtis; and her sisters, Geraldine "Gerrie" Gorny (Joseph) of South Bend and Carol Gromski of Mishawaka. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Luminary Hospice in gratitude for the exceptional compassion and care they provided to Karen during her final days.
