He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Metz and Lola Metz (Zeiger); his spouse Beverly L. Metz (Enfield); and his siblings, George Metz, Shirley Bauer and Donna Bauer.

He is survived by: his children, Johanna L. Wandel (Steven) of Sodus, MI, Kenneth E. Metz, Jr. (Nancy) of South Bend and Todd A. Metz (Donna) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan (Tara), Cameron, Nicholas, Brianna, Kyle and Josh; and his brother Gerry Metz of South Bend.

“Ken was one of a kind a family man and Navy Korean war vet. I am so sorry of his passing but know he touched many lives including mine. So glad i met Ken and had many chats about family and military life. We were able to take him to the Newton center in 2019 to celebrate the 4th of July. He had a great time! People thanked him for his service. He was a rock star that day! I think for a time it took him back to a place where he felt young again. I am sure he is at the right hand of god.”
