He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Szekendy and Rose Szekendy (Vargyas); and his brother Charles Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Toby Szekendy; his children, Judy Henderson (Kevin) and Mike Szekendy (Patti); his grandchildren, Amber Pulford, Ashley O'Chap (Brad), Bradey Szekendy (Alexandra), Blake Szekendy and Bryse Szekendy; and his great grandchildren, Emmy, Max, Olivia and Reagan.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church, 2310 E. Jefferson Blvd, South Bend, IN 46615.
