She was predeceased by: her father Leo Smith; her husband Clifford Merkle; and her brother Leroy Smith. She is survived by: her children, Alice Sinclair (Kevin) of Noblesville, Doris Merkle of South Bend and Jim Merkle (Kate) of Buchanan, MI; her granddaughters, Rebecca Kendall (Darrell) and Jessica Blue (Jeffrey); and her great grandchildren, Raegan and Harper Kendall.
