She was predeceased by: her parents, John I. Squires and Sarah E. Squires (Stevenson); her son Robert D. Shonkwiler; and her siblings, Ralph L. Squires and Ethel C. Wells.
She is survived by: her significant other Forest Shonkwiler; and her children, Gary L. Shonkwiler (Janet) of Brazil, Indiana, Sue E. Shonkwiler (Torbert) of Brazil, Indiana and Steven J. Shonkwiler (Kristi) of Madison, Indiana.. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hanley & Sons Funeral Home "southwest Chapel" (23421 IN-23, South Bend, IN 46614). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lena United Methodist Church (10932 Lena Rd, Brazil, IN 47834). A burial will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at the Poff Cemetery.
