He is survived by: his wife Deborah Cafiero (Meyer) of Granger; his children, Gina Goetz (Toby), Arthur Cafiero (Lauren) of Golden, CO and Tiffani Lynn (Matthew) of Granger; his grandchildren, Owen, Isaic, Claire, Myles, Carter, Penelope (Pippi), Amaya and Oliver; and his siblings, Carol Chandler (Brad), Thomas Cafiero (Laura) and Diane Cafiero.
The University of Notre Dame honored Paul with the prestigious Distinguished Alumni Award, recognizing his outstanding contributions to his field and underscoring his remarkable impact.
