She was predeceased by: her husband Leon Wesson; her parents, Newton C. Carter and Alberta Carter Johnson; her stepmother Catherine Carter; her son Alex J. Wesson, Sr.; and her siblings, James Carter Sr., Josephine and Barbara Lindsey.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Williams (Cathy) of Indianapolis and Paula Wesson of Seattle, Washington; her granddaughter Alicia Wesson (Duane White); her daughter-in-law Denise Wesson; and her sisters, Albertine Barrett of Lakeland and Germaine Covington of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
