She was predeceased by: her father Donald Hertel. She is survived by: her mother Elaine Rice; her daughter Jennifer Johnston (Nathan); her grandchildren, Kara Johnston, Nathan Johnston and Andrew Johnston; her great grandchildren, Ella Johnston and Violet Johnston; and her aunt Lois Hartman. She is also survived by two nieces, four nephews, one great niece, and two great nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
