It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Robert Broecker of South Bend, Indiana, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Broecker and Marguerite Meinke Broecker; his former wife Betty Jane; and his stepdaughter Karen Sullivan. He is survived by: his wife Erica Olson Broecker of Erica's Craft; his children, Judith "Judy" Malley (Dan), Catherine "Cathy" Young (Bill), William "Bill" Broecker (Lori), Sarah Gorzelany (Jay) and Sean Broecker (Michelle); and his stepchildren, John "Jack" Sardeson (Patty) and Sigrid Sardeson. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and beloved cats.
