He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Pamela Carter; his children, Patricia Meltabarger, LaCrecia Smith and Richard Carter, Jr.; his mother Julie Carter; his siblings, Brenda Carter, Jeffery, Gregory and Preston Carter; his aunt Mary Pinkney; his friends, Peter Hall, Larry Robinson and Richard; his brother Shar'on Carter; and his grandparents, Lula Mae and Willie Carter. He was also cherished by four grandchildren.
