He was predeceased by: his father Floyd Melser; his wife Mary Ellen Melser (Smith); and his brothers, Floyd, John and Harry Melser.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon LeVeque of Bremen, IN, Lucinda Kendrick of Lake Elsinore, CA and Richard "Dick" Melser Jr. of Bremen; his grandchildren, Michelle LeVeque Dunbar, Rhonda LeVeque Gradeless (Kevin), Michael Donahue Jr., Christina Donahue Fry and Sue Ellen Donahue; his great grandchildren, Britton, Hannah, Corinne, Brooke Dunbar, Kathryn, Leah, Owen Gradeless, Travis and Kimberly Buck; and his sister-in-law Bea Melser of South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of Richard may be given to Richard "Dick" Melser Jr.
