He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia L. Pilger; his daughter Andrea M. Pilger; his stepgrandson Brian E. Troy; and his parents, Richard C. Pilger and Marie H. Pilger (Ryan).
He is survived by: his son Richard C. Pilger (Claudette) of Vienna, VA; his stepgrandchildren, Sarah E. Sanders of Lexington, SC, Michael R. Pilger of Brooklyn, NY, Mitchell F. Troy of Annandale, VA and Anna T. Pilger of Richmond, VA; and his stepgreat-grandsons, Nicholas M. of Houston, TX. and Joshua T. Sanders of Houston, TX.. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
