He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Ormond and Margery Ray Ormond. He is survived by: his children, Carolyn (Scott) of Palm Springs and Alex (Madoka) of Tokyo, Japan.; and his siblings, Neal Ormond (Mary) of Aurora, Martin Ormond (Andrea) of La Quinta, Nancy Murphy (Donald) of Batavia and Paul Ormond (Susan) of Savannah, Georgia.. He is also survived by 15 nieces and nephews, and two dozen grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Rich's memory to any of several Ormond Family funds (for West Aurora Teaching Excellence, Athletic Excellence and the Ormond Stadium Renovation) at the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, 111 W. Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60506; to the University of Notre Dame, Department of Development, 1100 Grace Hall, Notre Dame, IN 46556; or to a charitable organization of the donor's choice.
