The family announces the passing of Rita J. Harper (South Bend, Indiana) on September 9, 2026. Rita, born on November 4, 1937, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard J. Lukasiak and Helen Lukasiak (Guzicki); her son Michael; and her siblings, Mary Ann Kwiecinski, Christine Kovach, Fran Huff, Phyllis Lukasiak and Leonard P. Lukasiak.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Nicole Fogarty; her great grandchildren, Olivia Forgarty and Finnigan Fogarty of Indianapolis; and her grandson Ingram Schermerhorn of Bloomington. She is also survived by 21 nieces and nephews, 35 great nieces and nephews and more than 12 great-great nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions should be directed to St. Vincent de Paul Society or The Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
