He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Libbey and Jean Libbey (Krause); his son Gary Libbey; his brother Ed Libbey; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Dottie Dieckman.

He is survived by: his wife Karen L. Libbey (Dieckman); his daughter Tammy Colson (Jon) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Jeremy Colson (Kaliegh), Jacob Colson (Megan Mead), Maggie Lammering (Ryan) and Luke Libbey; his siblings-in-law, Judy Libbey, Kathy Kenney (Butch), Carol Kayla (Larry), Chris Matson and Bill Dieckman (Kathy); Linnea Bell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Unity.
