He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Samuels and Mary Samuels (Colpitts); his son Robert G. Samuels II; and his brothers, John Samuels and Thomas Samuels.
He is survived by: his children, Betsy A. Vogel of Mishawaka, Mary E. Watkins (David) of Osceola and William C. Samuels (Angela) of South Bend; his grandchildren, Victoria Rose Vogel, James Wayne Vogel II, Louis Robert Vogel and Kaylee Marie Watkins; and his siblings, Lori Sobieralski (Chris) and Richard Samuels (Chris Samuels-Wade).
