We are sad to announce that on April 22, 2024, at the age of 94, Roger Louis Mathia Sr. of South Bend, Indiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Allene D. LaFree; his wife Dorothy (Ciesielski); his daughter Beth Ann Taylor; and his stepsiblings, George LaFree Jr., James LaFree, LaVerna Hesch, Elnora Leininger, Rosemary Gilpin and Florine Baker.
He is survived by: his children, Roger'Beaver' Mathia Jr. (Janet) of South Bend, Greg Mathia (Mindy) of Wyatt and Debra Stevens (Kenny) of Wakarusa; his son-in-law Doug Taylor of Elkhart; and his grandchildren, DJ Houghton, Amber Mathia, Jeremy Houghton, Ben Mathia, Cory Taylor (Jess), Hannah Sebasty (Dustan), Clarissa Taylor (Mike Franklin), Stephanie Heckman (Dustin), Josh Taylor (Becca), Autumn Taylor, Tyler Mathia, Ellayna, Charlotte, Serena, Vanessa, Lyla and Streicher.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Roger L. Mathia Sr. may be donated to Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
