It is with sadness that the passing of Sherry Burke of South Bend, Indiana is shared. Sherry, born on July 24, 1936, passed away on October 26, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sherry Burke to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Dale (Zmyslo) and Velma Dale (Fenner); and her sister Shirley May DePew (Dale). She is survived by: her husband William Francis Burke; her goddaughter Lori-Ann Roman (Simpson); her close friends, Ann Hill of South Bend and Danielle McKee of South Bend; Wendy Jo Christoff (Mark), Eric DePew (Laurie), Jon DePew (Nanalie), Bowie Hillberg and Colin Hillberg. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Friday, November 6th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A rosary will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Jude Catholic Church (19704 Johnson Rd, South Bend, IN 46614). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, November 6th 2026 at the Southlawn Cemetery (61430 US-31, South Bend, IN 46614).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sherry L. Burke may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church or the parish school. Contributions may also be made to the St. Joseph County Humane Society, Pet Refuge, or any pet-friendly organization.
